About WFCU

ABOUT US

You come first at Wichita Federal Credit Union.

When you become a Wichita Federal Credit Union (WFCU) member, you're not just an account number. WFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, meaning all our members are also owners. Our members-first philosophy has served us well over the years.  Wichita Municipal Federal Credit Union (WMFCU) was chartered in May 1940 to serve the municipal employees of the City of Wichita, including the Police, Fire, and Emergency Services departments. WFCU operates a branch located inside City Hall and maintains deep ties with many departments.
In  2006, WMFCU became Wichita Federal Credit Union (WFCU) and opened membership, welcoming anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Sedgwick County, Kansas, to become a member.   Since 1940, WFCU has grown to serve more than 14,000 members in Sedgwick County and manage over $200 Million in assets.
#Not-for-Profit, For Members.

What is a Credit Union?

Credit Unions are all about community. They are not-for-profit financial institutions that exist to serve their members.

Credit unions offer higher savings rates and lower fees, which is important to young people just starting their savings accounts. We provide personal service, helping members plan for the future. The credit union philosophy is “people helping people.”

WFCU is owned and controlled by the people who use our services. We are a great choice for your personal financial needs, and most of all we are passionate about helping our members achieve their financial goals.
