WHERE DO I GO?
The entrance to the Shred Day event will be off of 21st St., and another entrance off of Webb Rd.
WHAT CAN I BRING?
You can bring up to 3 regular-sized boxes of personal documents that will be shredded for free.
Shredding service is provided by Underground Vaults and Storage (UVS). UVS is NAID AAA Certified for destruction services, so you can feel confident your information will remain secure.
Please follow the signs and lanes of traffic. Please stay in your car for safety. We will remove the paper from your vehicle, which will be shredded onsite. (If the shred truck reaches capacity, a second truck will be on-site to transport the documents to the UVS facility for shredding securely. If this happens, we will notify you BEFORE accepting your documents to shred.)
Shredding documents with sensitive information is a great way to protect your identity. Here are some additional positive steps to take which will decrease your risk:
Don't unnecessarily give out your Social Security Number (only for tax reasons, credit, or to verify employment.) Before providing personal identifiers, know how they will be used and if they will be shared.
Know your billing cycles and contact creditors when bills don't arrive in the mail. Also, review account and credit card statements carefully.
Don't give out personal information on the phone, mail, or Internet unless you initiate the contact.
